Phillips Nizer is pleased to share the new that on April 11, 2025, following the unanimous vote of the New York City Council, our managing partner, Marc Landis, was sworn in as the new Democratic Commissioner of Elections of the New York City Board of Elections for the County of New York.
 

The NYC Board of Elections has 10 commissioners, one Democrat and one Republican from each of the five boroughs, and has broad oversight over the entire electoral process, from the designation and nomination of candidates to absentee balloting, early voting and general voting operations.
